Background: Visioneering Wichita Health Alliance leaders originally selected 9 health priorities (listed below) based on leading health indicators and the priorities identified in the original Quality of Life Foundation, 2004. Then, coalitions actively working on those priorities were invited to participate to elevate their efforts and increase community engagement. Focus area reports documenting previous alliance efforts are available under Recent Developments.
New Efforts: As part of the Review, Revise and Refocus effort within Visioneering Wichita and a desire to create a community health improvement plan, a new forum series was developed. Our expected outcome is increased awareness and a community designed plan that the Alliance will use to identify strategic priorities and new ways of working together.
Invitation: Please come to our next forum on March 26th. We have designed a process to discuss resources, strengths and opportunities in our community to address the issues defined at the last forum. You can learn what was discussed at the first of three forums by checking out the meeting notes under Recent Developments.
The nine health priorites identified by the alliande are:
Asthma Drug/Alcohol Abuse Mental Health Nutrition Oral Health Chronic Illness Prevention Pysical Activity Tobacco Use Unintentional and Intentional Injury
Among the key benchmarks for success for the Health Alliance will be improving these health indicators, as well as keeping the average annual health expenditures below the projected growth trend line.
