HEATHLY LIFESTYLES AND QUALITY HEALTH CARE HALLMARKS TO HEALTHY COMMUNITY

2010 - The Visioneering Health Alliance is currently creating a community health improvement plan. Participants have been drawn from multiple facets including employers and businesses, health care professionals, community leaders, government officials, and public health professionals. These individuals were recruited from the already existing participants to Visioneering Wichita's Health Alliance. Further, forum participants recommended additional community health stakeholders who were also invited and participated. At each forum, 55-60 agency and community leaders provided input. Throughout the three forums there were over 100 unique participants.

Community Action Plans are currently beging developed for five new community health priorities identified through the forum series:

  • Behavior Health
  • Oral Health & Fluoridation
  • Obesity and Diabetes
  • Access to Care
  • Health Disparities

    The Community Health Improvement Plan is expected to be complete by July 2010.

    Among the key benchmarks for success for the Health Alliance will be improving these health indicators, as well as keeping the average annual health expenditures below the projected growth trend line.
